Amazon Web Services: The Start-Up project

From Jeff Barr’s Twitter Stream, I found out about The Start-Up Project. The Start-Up Project is a set of half-day events that Amazon is hosting in several cities to showcase how the suite of web services that the company offers can help get companies get off the ground.
The website lists the following reasons to attend
- Understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services into your business
- Find ways to cut fixed infrastructure costs while increasing reliability and scalability
- Hear what VCs look for when investing in early stage companies
- Learn from successful start-ups about their use of Amazon Web Services
- Network with local VCs and start-ups from your area
The talks will include examples of success stories and apparently some VC 101 type talks. Strangely enough, there is no event in Seattle, the Amazons home base.
