Google reaches out to disgruntled customers of Google Video

More than a week back, Google decided to shut down the web rentals and sales of Google Video. Google also announced that it will compensate the customers who will no longer be able to watch their purchased videos. This announcement kick started a huge backlash against Google. Today, Bindu Reddy, Google Video Product Manager, made an announcement through Google’s official blog that they have learnt the lessons from their goof up and now they want to compensate the frustrated users by crediting the refund to their credit cards instead of Google Checkout. It appears that they are going ahead with the refund to even those customers who had already received their Google Checkout credits. The customers get to keep the credits as a “goofup gift” from Google. I applaud Google for this move. They realized that they have made a mistake and they are making sure that they are reaching out to customers to regain their trust.
